  1. I really want to express how sad i am so as a lot of fans . But Michael is just an example for me.
He behaved for all those years like no one always fighting to do his job as best as he could. Working a lot and he stayed so simple like us.
And his is so générous in time and money. just look at what he did for the brain institute and how much he gave for the tsunami’s victims in 2004.
It s is exceptionnal personality that i remember an i sincerely hope that life will remember that
Keep fighting take your time we are with you and your family

  2. Dear Mr Hartstein.
To what extent in your opinion and based on your experience and the information we have collated so far, can MS recover from his predicament? Is this a question you can / are prepared to address? I was intrigued to see that Phillipe Streff visited him today. Many thanks for all your comments both here and on Twitter. Peter Kirchem

  3. Thank you for comments on Michael’s condition. Are you going to comment any more on his condition? I read that in situations like Michael’s the doctors might start to reduce the amount of sedative they are giving him in the hope he come out of the coma.

  4. Dear Dr. Gary,

I just want to say thank you for being there for us F1 fans during this difficult time. Thank you for taking the time to give us updates/explanations when there were none. The wait from press conference to the next is agonizing, and with your tweets we have information from an expert right between our hands. Hope the new year brings us good news. Wish you and your family a happy, prosperous new year.

    Love and respect from Bahrain.

  5. Dear Gary,

Nowadays its rare that I make comments but I’m now pleased to have the opportunity to express how great your presence is. I really like the whole situation of having an expert of such a special science around & available and your unique background also provides an additional layer to your insights.

Thank you very much for your tweets and posts and also looking forward to see more speeches and presentations from you (I’ve found one about leadership in crisis situations at the FIA Institute website) in the future.

Wish you all the best for the new year, certainly less crisis situations to analyze than in 2013!

  6. Dear Gary, Like everyone else has said, thank you so much for taking the time and giving us your input into Micheal’s condition. It means a great deal. Lets hope 2014 is a good yr for us ALL. #GetWellSoonSchumi

  7. Hi Doc, I appreciate and like your thoughts and clarifications a lot. 🙂 I have tweeted a question to you but never got answered though. Is it beacause it hasn’t reached you for some reason, maybe? I asked (about Michael Schumacher): “Do the “involuntary movements of limbs” when first taken to hospital indicate anything about the areas of his brain affected?” Thanks if you can reply to that. Tweet: @ZeroDThirty

  8. Thank you Doc for keeping us updated on Schumi’s condition. We are clamoring for any detail and the information you provide is settling our nerves a bit.

Have a wonderful year ahead and I hope/pray our champion would be up and running in no time. Go Schumi!

  9. We are devoted fans of Michael Schumacher … and now we are fans of yours for putting his awful predicament into perspective. A Happy New Year … if that doesn’t sound a tad trite.

  10. Gary, firstly have a properous, healthy 2014. Secondly, thank you for explaining a very complex subject in a way that mere mortals can understand.

  11. You are obviously a busy guy Gary, so thanks for making the time to make the incomprehensible into something we can understand and aprreciate the complexities of. We have no idea what will happen to Michael but at least now we are no longer sitting in the dark wondering what was/is going on.
Best wishes for 2014. We are lucky to have ypu.

  12. Dear Gary,
I really hope you understand the naked environment we the fans are coping with, one one hand we have the press conferences which are conducted in a proper professional fashion and on the other we have press wolves both trying to get a picture or getting ready for the worst readying “press specials” and releasing “desinformating” twits and news.

Your dedication is priceless to both you and us, you having the knowledge, experience and willing to share it, and us, having your knowledge and will to share it barehanded, I really hope Michael can get a read of this unique experience as soon as he can have it. This is enlightening.

I understand these times recalls us with other matters, so here are my best wishes to you, us readers and above all Michael Schumacher and family.

Thanks again Gary, please keep on getting us posted.

  13. So amazing to have this simple and straightforward interpretation. Like many others i feel so much better and clearer on what is happening. Thank you so very much and lets all hope and pray 2014 will be a good year for Schumi and his family. Happy new year to you and keep the posts coming!!!

    • Hi Dr.
I have no doubts that MS is in the hands of very experienced people that see awful things like this unfortunately happen much to often. I just hope they are as clear and articulate as you are in describing to his grief stricken family what is happening and the procedures they are taking to help him recover from this awful accident.
Thanks for your insight and invaluable knowledge.

  14. Even though Its just idle speculation…. I have really enjoyed hearing it from someone who knows what they are talking about and isn’t talking to me like I am the lowest common denominator of human being!
If ever I do meet you, Please let me buy the drinks!

  15. Happy 2014 doc! So grateful and thankful for your expertise to help our understanding of Schumacher’s terribly unfortunate situation. We all pray he will get through OK in the end.

  16. Thank you McDreamy 😉 I’m going to call you that from now on lol

Happy New Year to you and yours as well. Thank you for the work you have done and the insight you give us all. It is appreciated.

  17. A happy and prosperous new year to you and your family.

You are angrily missed in F1. Ironically the opposite of Adam Parr, who upset the other end of the circus. Still smoking the cigars I suppose ha ha!

  18. Cheers for taking the time to explain everything to us non-medical peeps in terms we can understand! I feel much more reassured now.

Happy 2014 to you and yours
    xxxxxx

  19. Thank you so much for your time and patience. You’ve been a source of hope, and I’m sure now Michael will recover no matter how long it takes. 🙂
